According to the Sioux City Journal (Jan 7, 1924) the author, Florence Beerie, a 26 year old women who lectured on "The Psychology of the Intermediate Sex," mailed copies of the booklet for $5 and was eventually forced to withdraw her "flagrantly obscene" book after it was reported.
